Lead and work in close partnership with the Los Angeles County Aging and Disabilities Department, cross-sector partners, and local, state, and national experts to reach agreed upon goals.
Short-term: Identify best practice models and/or strategies for facilitating older adult technology and digital inclusion. Test pilot two (2) strategies to ensure the identified models are age and culturally appropriate and meet tech literacy needs of diverse older adults.
Mid-term: Form a multi-sector work group to provide input into the development of an older adult Technology and Digital Inclusion Action Plan. Seek and secure funding to support the implementation of the Technology & Digital Inclusion Action Plan.
Long-term: Establish a County - supported designated Older Adult Technology & Digital Inclusion Coordinator. Implement and Evaluate Older Adult Technology and Digital Inclusion Action Plan.
We created a Tech Pop-Up Toolkit for organizations and agencies that have an interest in providing tech inclusion to their clients. The Toolkit not only offers tech support for older adults, but it engages volunteers, can be used for social engagement, and helps to shrink the digital divide. The toolkit comes with sample flyers, best practices for volunteer recruitment, a slide deck for training your volunteers, and more.
