Capacity & Resource Development Committee









Purpose:

Develop and expand member capacities, both individual and organizational, through training, shared learning, and resource development.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess capacity building needs and priorities by gathering feedback and input through member surveys, meetings, and hosted events.

  • Identify and share capacity development tools, resources, training and technical assistance opportunities to strengthen member capacity to strengthen member capacity and their abilities to effectively serve older adults and their caregivers in their communities.

  • Oversee management and maintenance of LAACHA website to keep members informed of events and resources that strengthen member organizations.

Recommendation:

In partnership with local, state, and national level experts, identify or develop, implement, and evaluate training and technical assistance (TTA) resources to support member organizational capacity and long-term sustainability of LAACHA member organizations.

Short-term:

  • Conduct a search to identify TTA opportunities to address organizational sustainability.

  • Access to government and non-government funding, and workforce shortages and capacity.

  • Identify, pursue, and apply for funding opportunities to support TTA curriculum development and implementation.

Mid-term:

  • Develop TTA Implementation plan.

  • Develop an evaluation framework to measure effectiveness and impact.

Long-term:

  • Implement TTA activities across identified priority areas.

  • Conduct evaluation activities to assess outcomes and inform continuous improvement.
